YOGA & Adventure Retreat
May 16 - 23, 2026
The Retreat
Join Souljourn Yoga founder Jordan Ashley and yoga teacher and reiki practitioner Joanne Silver on a 7-night, 8-day journey through Cape Town and the Cape Winelands — a retreat that blends yoga, culture, and community. Across the week, we’ll move between Cape Town’s coastal energy and the peaceful charm of Franschhoek’s wine country, discovering moments of stillness, adventure, and shared joy. This retreat is an invitation to explore, both within and around you, and to experience South Africa in a grounded, intentional, and authentic way.
We are proud to partner with Lalela — a Zulu word meaning “to listen.” Lalela uses an arts-based curriculum to spark imagination and support young people in mapping and manifesting their dreams, creating opportunities for themselves and their communities. Retreat participants will meet with and donate directly to Lalela’s Female Empowerment Program, connecting through art, conversation, and shared creativity for a meaningful exchange that highlights the power of expression, collaboration, and compassion.
In Cape Town, we’ll stay at the elegant Rosedene Guesthouse, tucked beneath Table Mountain in the leafy Gardens neighborhood. Explore the vibrant Oranjezicht Market, take in panoramic views on a hike up Lion’s Head or Table Mountain, and stroll along the V&A Waterfront. We’ll visit the vibrant Bo-Kaap, the lush Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and enjoy a beach picnic at Boulders Beach, home to a colony of African penguins. A scenic drive around Cape Point completes a day of awe-inspiring landscapes.
In Franschhoek, we’ll retreat to the elegant Mont d’Or Guesthouse, a serene hideaway nestled in the heart of the picturesque wine valley—steps away from boutique shops, art galleries, and renowned vineyards. Lounge by the inviting pool, enjoy a leisurely breakfast on the veranda, or take in the peaceful mountain and vineyard views that surround the guesthouse.
In addition to daily yoga, you’ll enjoy a variety of unique, off-the-beaten-path experiences: guided hikes, cultural walking tours, scenic drives, and encounters with wildlife. Each activity is designed to inspire curiosity, connection, and reflection, allowing you to engage deeply with the landscapes, communities, and rhythms of South Africa. This retreat goes beyond travel — it’s an opportunity to reconnect with what truly matters: presence and community.

Meet your Guides
Jordan Ashley
While embracing New York City’s fast-paced and driven yoga culture, our founder, Jordan Ashley, recognized a need for service-based yoga; a need for experiences which give perspective to the self through selflessness. Feeling extremely blessed to not only be given the opportunity for education, but to have a voice in society, she felt it was imperative to raise both awareness and funds for girls all over the planet who are denied such essential human rights.
Joanne Silver
Joanne Silver has been certified in both reiki & reflexology since 2000 and vinyasa yoga since 2002. After training in vinyasa yoga, she went on to become qualified in prenatal, restorative, therapeutic yoga, Urban Zen and anatomy for yoga teachers. She teaches yoga to private clients around Manhattan, as well as at corporations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small startups. Joanne has taught and mentored in well-known teacher trainings and leads yoga retreats to places both near and far.
